Maternal Mental Health

This is definitely not what you expected. You may have thought that everything would fall perfectly into place, that being a parent would be the most natural thing in the world. Now, you’re finding that the fears, the anxiety, the self-doubt, the grief over your old life, and the disconnection from your partner are ruling your mind. You might be having a tough time sleeping, noticing some scary thoughts popping up, and just getting through each day is a trial. You wonder if you’re really connecting with your baby. You might be wondering who you even are these days.

You want to enjoy this time and genuinely feel the fulfilment that was promised in this season of your life. You want to ease your fears and move into your new role with a sense of empowerment and a loving connection with yourself, your baby, and your family.

We can help you get there.

The idea for Sage Maternal Mental Health & Maternal Wellness was borne as a result of Jennifer’s own past struggles with fertility challenges, loss, and reproductive medicine, as well as maternal mental health struggles. Finding a lack of specialized therapy supports for women experiencing infertility and mental health struggles in pregnancy and postpartum, Jennifer founded Sage Mental Health & Maternal Wellness – a counselling clinic with a special interest in helping prospective, expecting, and new parents cope with the mental health demands of infertility, loss, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood.

It is our passion and privilege to support prospective and current mothers/birth-givers and their families cope with the stressors and demands of this season of their lives.
