Allie Huggins

Allie Huggins (MC, RCC, CCC)

Registered Clinical Counsellor & Canadian Certified Counsellor

Allie is welcoming new clients for in-person sessions in Kelowna, and for online and phone sessions, for youth12+, individuals, and couples.

Allie’s mission as a Registered Clinical Counsellor is to create a non-judgmental, compassionate, and honest space where clients can explore all aspects of their lives and inner worlds. She views the therapeutic relationship that her clients grow with her as significant to their therapy, and aims to build a high level of rapport and trust that leads to a successful therapy experience. She encourages clients to go at their own pace and venture to these hard places in a supportive and safe environment.

Allie’s approach is warm, client-centred, and emotion-focused. Every session is tailored to each individual’s unique needs, drawing from evidence-based practices and incorporating holistic techniques to foster holistic well-being.

Allie views her role as one of support to her clients, while gently challenging unhelpful thought patterns or narratives and to foster a safe environment for deeper self-reflection and consciousness-raising.

Allie grew up in Kelowna, BC, and has spent most of her adult life in Vancouver. In university, she fell in love with the arts and vacillated between creative writing, philosophy, English, and psychology classes. She decided to pursue psychology, the best fit to combine her interests and skills and to provide a meaningful service to her community. In her spare time, she enjoys arts and culture, travelling with her husband, going for long walks around new cities, reading, writing, and spending time with her two Bengal cats.
