PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH CERTIFIED SPECIALIST & COMPASSIONATE BEREAVEMENT CARE PROVIDER

In my practice, I firmly believe that you are the expert in your own life, and that it is not my place to decide what is best for you. You bring your specialty knowledge on what has worked and what hasn’t worked into your counselling experience, and it is our job to work together to access your own inner wisdom and to help you find the best path forward.

As your counsellor, it is my goal to come alongside you to support you in learning how to resolve, manage, or accept the various challenges that life brings. I aim to create a warm, judgment-free professional relationship where you may feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings, memories, relationships, and behaviours more deeply and authentically, with the overall goal in mind of creating lasting change for a more balanced and resourceful life.

Whether you’re looking for a more unstructured, open-ended approach, or a more structured and stepwise therapy, I will meet you there by customizing my counselling approach to best suit your needs and preferences.

On a more personal note, I am a mom of 3 beautiful children. My own journey to motherhood included experiences with reproductive challenges (IUI and IVF), loss, and perinatal mental health challenges. This road isn’t easy, and I know too well how these difficult experiences can show up in your relationships, your sense of self, your life satisfaction, and your mental wellness. As a result of my personal experiences with maternal mental health, I consider it a passion and a humble privilege to support others as they strive to live well within their own stories.

Counselling Approaches & Training

I hold a Master’s degree in counselling psychology from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good professional standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

In addition to my formal training, I have taken advanced training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness & acceptance approaches, and specialized courses in perinatal mental health, birth trauma, reproductive challenges, and loss and grief support.

I hold an advanced certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C through Postpartum Support International), and am certified in Compassionate Bereavement Care through the MISS Foundation.

In general, I draw from several different approaches in my therapeutic style, including:
