Birth Trauma
At Sage Mental Health & Maternal Wellness, we recognize that the journey of childbirth can sometimes lead to experiences that are overwhelming and traumatic. Birth trauma is not just a physical event; it encompasses emotional and psychological impacts that can linger long after the delivery. Whether it’s due to unexpected complications, feelings of loss of control, or the challenges of postpartum adjustment, we are here to support you.
Our Compassionate Approach
We believe that healing begins with understanding and compassion. Our qualified therapists specialize in birth trauma and are dedicated to creating a safe, judgment-free space for you to explore your feelings and experiences. We understand that each person’s journey is unique, and our approach is tailored to meet your specific needs.
Our therapists are trained to listen actively and empathetically, helping you to process your emotions surrounding your birth experience. We aim to empower you by validating your feelings and guiding you through the healing process.
Services Offered
Individual Therapy
One-on-one therapy sessions provide an opportunity to delve deeply into your birth experience and its aftermath. Our therapists will work with you to identify your feelings of trauma, whether they manifest as anxiety, depression, or feelings of inadequacy. Through evidence-based therapeutic techniques, we’ll help you develop coping strategies and tools to manage your emotions effectively.
Mindfulness and EMDR Therapy
We offer specialized therapies such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) that can be particularly effective for trauma recovery. This approach helps you process traumatic memories and reduce their emotional charge. Additionally, mindfulness practices can help you ground yourself and find peace amidst the chaos.

The Importance of Seeking Help
Many individuals underestimate the impact of birth trauma on their emotional well-being. It’s common to feel guilt, shame, or confusion about your feelings after a traumatic birth experience. However, seeking help is a crucial step toward recovery. Our therapists are here to help you navigate these feelings and reclaim your sense of self.
By addressing birth trauma, you can not only heal but also cultivate a deeper understanding of yourself and your journey into motherhood. You deserve the support to thrive, not just survive.
Free Consultation
We understand that choosing the right therapist is an important decision. That’s why we offer a free, 15-minute consultation for new clients. This allows you to connect with a therapist and see if we’re the right fit for your needs. We’re committed to ensuring that you feel comfortable and understood as you embark on your healing journey.
