Sophie Arkell (MC, RCC, D.VATI)
Registered Clinical Counsellor
Sophie is welcoming individuals for youth, adult, and couples’ counselling across BC for online and phone appointments, in addition to in-person counselling in her office in Kitsilano, Vancouver, BC.
Sophie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor committed to providing compassionate mental health support for youth, adults, and couples. Through her work, she strives to create a warm and authentic space; one where clients feel supported in navigating and exploring how thoughts, feelings, and experiences inform the ways they show up and interact with the world around them. Sophie practices from a relational, attachment-based, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed perspective. In her work, she prioritizes transparency, collaboration, and awareness of the societal, environmental, and cultural impacts on mental health.
With a background specializing in grief & bereavement care, Sophie has nearly a decade of experience providing counselling and art therapy support to children, youth, individuals, and families impacted by serious illness, trauma, grief and loss. Sophie welcomes clients of any gender identity, sexual orientation, or relationship type. She is most passionate about working with youth and adults through big life changes and challenges such as:
